WANDERERS
-"I would like to tell my story with the appearance of these beautiful creatures into my life. Several years ago I was visiting my friends in Klin (This is a city in the Moscow region). This is a family of doctors. They have small children and two meerkats. All the time of my staying in their house, I am amazed by these funny and charming creatures. They jumped, fell, frolicked, it was easy to confuse them with children. I could not tear myself away from them, they fascinated me! I learned from my acquaintances that meerkats cannot stand loneliness. Alone, they die. I thought how far they were from their familiar and familiar places. But life in a foreign land is possible for them if there is someone of their own nearby. This is not their environment, it is not their air and not their climate. They are like wanderers who have wandered into unknown lands and hold on to each other. Soon I painted the first picture with them "Wanderers in the Klin" or, as I also call it, "Pereklinilo". I posted this work on my website and social media accounts. A surprise for me was the great response from Japan and Korea from families with meerkats. They constantly sent photos and videos of their favorites. Their communication, games, habits, walks. People from distant countries tried to offer me ideas for new subjects. Touchingly asked to continue the series. Through this communication, the image of "The Wanderers" developed. They became more and more like people. It is no coincidence that in Africa they are called "the little people". The Wanderers series came to the fore in connection with what is happening in our lives. Now is a difficult time, life has changed suddenly and strongly. The pandemic continues: quarantines, isolation, restrictions. We all turned out to be "Wanderers". We need to cope with new conditions and circumstances. Do not give in to panic, despondency, do not slide into depression. These little creatures are an example for us, they succeed - we can do it too!"
Lelya's watercolors are such a peculiar example of a man-made "blockchain". Indeed, given that the watercolor technique does not tolerate corrections and repetitions, and each masterfully placed stroke visually sculpts the shape "without corrections", then why is this not a chain of "watercolor non-interchangeable tokens"?
